In October 2014, Marvel announced that they would finally be giving us a female-fronted superhero film – ‘Captain Marvel’. Ever since then, speculation has been rife about who would take on the lead role. Fans have been discussing their dream castings and various actresses (and even a wrestler) have expressed their interest in taking on the part. Then, a rumour emerged that Marvel had a clear first choice – Brie Larson – and at San Diego Comic Con, Kevin Feige confirmed that she would indeed be taking on the role. This is yet another great piece of casting for the MCU and I for one cannot wait to see what she does with the part.
Captain Marvel won’t be in cinemas until March 2019, but we can always hope that we get to see a Carol Danvers cameo in one of the many movies Marvel is releasing before then.
