Disney have confirmed that production on the untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story officially began yesterday (February 20th). Alongside this announcement, they released our first look at the cast together on board the Millennium Falcon.
We’ve also been given a tease of what to expect from the film:
“The movie will explore the duo’s adventures before the events of ‘Star Wars: A New Hope’, including their early encounters with that other card-playing rogue from a galaxy far, far away, Lando Calrissian.”
Aldren Ehrenreich will be the man himself, Han Solo, Donald Glover will be playing fellow lovable rogue, Lando Calrissian and Joonas Suotamo will be donning the Wookie fur once more as Chewbacca. Also joining them will be Emilia Clarke, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Woody Harrelson who’s roles are yet to be confirmed. Thandie Newton has now been confirmed as a member of the cast after rumours circulated last week about her involvement in the film.
After Rogue One’s success as the first Star Wars Story spin-off, should we have high expectations for an origin story of everyone’s favourite space rogue? Are you excited to see Han before he met the Skywalkers?
The untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story is dated for release on 25th May 2018
