Following two very short teasers earlier this week and a live Q&A this afternoon over on the film’s Facebook page, the first full trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Blade Runner 2049’ is finally here, and it’s looks stunning!
During the live Q&A, Ryan Gosling was asked about his thoughts on the original and he replied that “the original made me question what it means to be a human being.” and that it was one of the first films where he didn’t know how he was supposed to feel when it ended. When asked about his sequel, Villeneuve said “We are still exploring the themes of memories and empathy, that’s still in the deeper tissue of what the movie is about and the relationship to what it means to be human” and that’s all he’d willingly share for now.
The trailer gives us our first look at Ana De Armas, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto, who appears to have a huge role to play in this film.
The official synopsis:
“Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.”
‘Blade Runner 2049’ is scheduled for a 6th October 2017 release
